Kekri: Trick or Die
A Finnish woman brings four American friends to a remote holiday village in rural Finland for a weekend escape. In their lakeside cabin, she tells them about Kekri, an old Finnish harvest tradition of masked visitors, hospitality, death, and rules around the threshold.
As a joke, the women perform a Kekri welcome at the cabin door. They offer a drink, ring a bell, and invite whoever is listening to claim it. Something answers.
When the Kekri Goat appears, the night becomes a ritual nightmare. The women are hunted one by one, and the dead return from the lake as beautiful, wrong versions of themselves: the Kekri Maidens. They go door to door through the holiday village, asking for a drink. Those who offer hospitality may live. Those who refuse are punished.
As the horror spreads from the cabin to the cottages, forest paths and local bar, the last surviving woman must understand the old rules quickly enough to survive the night. Kekri: Trick or Die is an English-language Finnish folk-horror feature about hospitality, thresholds, and the danger of playing with traditions you do not understand.
