Nordic Flair

Nordic Flair Makes a Comeback in 2025

Launched in 2017, Nordic Flair is an initiative of FFA that offers career development opportunities for Nordic talent. Supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond and AVEK, the initiative in 2025 focuses on emerging producers. Over three intensive days in Helsinki, ten producers from Nordic countries will combine access to FFA programme with exclusive closed-door sessions led by top industry experts.

The programme opens on Wednesday with a session on creative collaboration, where producer Max Malka shares insights on building strong partnerships between producer, director, and writer. In a dialogue on career strategy, Barbora Struss guides participants through pathways after film school, underlining how networks and training structures help sustain long-term careers. Later that day, the producers join FFA panels and programme at Gilda.

On Thursday, the producers follow the showcase day. A curated roundtable lunch is held exclusively for Nordic Flair producers, offering an informal networking opportunity with selected FFA delegates. In the afternoon, sales agent Tine Klint unpacks the role of the sales agent, the strategic use of packaging, markets, and festivals to build momentum, and how aggregation may shape the future of international sales. After the showcase, strategic leader and consultant Noemi Ferrer leads a debrief, reflecting on key takeaways from the pitching sessions and discussing effective strategies for presenting projects internationally.

The training concludes on Friday. Josef Kullengård shares his expertise on festival market readiness, offering practical advice on choosing the right forums, preparing strategically, and making the most of market participation with or without a project. The final session is led by festival programmer Elad Samorzik, who draws on his long experience in festival programming to reveal what makes films stand out and how to foster the relationships that shape a film’s festival journey. These closing sessions take
place in the inspiring Amos Anderson Home Museum, in collaboration with
Föreningen Konstsamfundet.

In 2025, the training programme is facilitated by FFA Industry Consultant Inka Hietala (Founder and Producer of Into Films), with assistance from FFA Industry Coordinator Emma Björkenheim
