The Campers

Every summer, a close-knit group of friends of caravan enthusiasts reunite at the Yyteri campsite, where familiar rituals, unwritten rules, and shared traditions create a comforting sense of belonging. For Juha, the annual gathering is more than a holiday—it is a way of holding on to the childhood world that shaped him. While those around him have moved on, he clings to a past that feels increasingly out of reach.

The community’s fragile balance is shaken when Jesse, the outspoken new partner of of the friends in the group, arrives at the campsite. A lifestyle coach devoted to radical honesty, Jesse challenges the group’s unspoken code of avoiding uncomfortable truths. As buried conflicts, old resentments, and long-kept secrets surface, relationships begin to unravel and the idyllic summer gathering spirals toward unexpected tragedy.

With a cast featuring some of Finland’s most beloved actors, The Campers blends warm ensemble comedy with increasingly darker shades. The film is a moral farce about the fear of change, the comfort of shared illusions, and the moment a close-knit community can no longer hold itself together.
