Good Times

Recently retired Ilkka and his wife, Liisa, are vacationing in Pärnu for the first time when they cross paths with Susanna and Anders, along with their friends Kari and Maija. Ilkka and Liisa find themselves welcomed into this lively group of sixty-somethings, who gather at the same restaurant in Pärnu every year to spend a week of summer together.

The three couples play tennis, sightsee, and soak up life in Pärnu. Their pact is simple: no secrets. What begins as a playful game of truth-telling gradually unearths deeper, more painful layers.

One evening, Ilkka and Susanna share a kiss. While Susanna is adventurous and bold, Ilkka is driven by a deep sense of responsibility and is left reeling. His relationship with Liisa is shifting into one of caregiving as she faces the early stages of dementia. He is torn: with good years still ahead, how should they be lived?
