Accessibility
We strive for accessibility and barrier-free access in all our actions and events. Below we have listed the accessibility information of our venues.
Gilda
Entrance
Gilda is located at Narinkka 2, and the building can be accessed from both the Narinkkatori side as well as the Lasipalatsi square (Lasipalatsinaukio) side. The entrance at the Narinkkatori side is at ground level and at the entrance at the Lasipalatsi Square side there is a ramp with a wall switch that opens the door.
Navigating indoors
All Gilda auditoriums and other facilities are wheelchair accessible. The ticket sales and our partner restaurants are located on the ground floor. The auditoriums, toilets, and Gilda Bar are located on the basement floor, which is accessible by lift. All auditoriums have 1-2 wheelchair places that are located in the back row next to the entrances.
Visually impaired customers can bring a guide dog with them to all public spaces, including movie theatres. This also applies to other assistance dogs, such as assistance dogs for persons with reduced mobility or other long-term illnesses. Guide and assistance dogs are comparable to a personal companion, and while accompanying the assisted person, the dog is on duty.
Animals that are not guide or assistance dogs may not be brought into the auditoriums.
Accessible toilets
Toilets are located on the basement floor, which is accessible by lift.
Lasipalatsi & Cafe Lasipalatsi
Entrance
Bio Rex Lasipalatsi is located at Mannerheimintie 22-24, Helsinki. The accessible entrance is not from the main entrance, but from the other side of the building, the Lasipalatsi Square (Lasipalatsinaukio, Helsinki). The accessible entrance is at ground level, the sign on the door reads Amos Rex.
When the museum is closed, the accessible entrance is through the Amos Rex door on the Lasipalatsi Square side by calling the staff’s phone number which can be found on the door. There is a canopy in front of the barrier-free entrance to await the arrival of the taxi service.
Navigating indoors
The accessible entrance leads to the Amos Rex museum lobby and gift shop, located on the first floor. The Bio Rex foyer and auditorium are located on the second floor, which can be accessed using the elevators in the museum gift shop. They can be found at the end of the hallway to the right. When arriving at the second floor, the foyer leading to the auditorium is located on the left. The entrance to the foyer has a doorstep that is 2,5 centimetres high. The entrances to the auditorium are located at both ends of the foyer. The auditorium has space for two wheelchairs, the spaces of which can be found on the right side of the auditorium at the end of row 9. The theatre does not have an induction loop.
Accessible toilets
An accessible toilet can be found in Lasipalatsi restaurant, located on the same floor as the foyer and the auditorium. Unfortunately, the toilet is not in use when the restaurant is closed.
To access the toilets during the opening hours (listed below), contact FFA staff. You might have to wait for a moment, as access needs to be requested. Please do not hesitate to contact guest coordinator Johanna László (johanna@hiff.fi / 0503403765) if you have concerns and we will do our best to navigate the limitation.
