Fiction in Development
Fiction projects in development and production can now apply to pitch at the 14th Finnish Film Affair, taking place in Helsinki from the 24th until the 26th of September 2025.
The Fiction in Progress series is for those projects further along and thus have a pitching time of eight minutes, whilst the Fiction in Development series is aimed at those in an earlier development phase and have a pitching time of four minutes.
We also accept projects where a Finnish production company is the minority producer.
Finnish Weird
Finnish Weird is back again and calling all the weird and wonderful projects to apply! We’re looking for the feature project you don’t dare to tell your mom about, the TV series you think will be a hit but “no one gets”, or the idea you don’t want to define yet. It can be a horror film. The wittiest reality TV we’ll be glued to. A good comedy with bad drama. A bad comedy with good drama. A game you want to see on the big screen. A film that everyone will play on their consoles. We are looking for fresh talent to throw their best ideas at us!
The Finnish Weird open call welcomes submissions from emerging directors, producers and scriptwriters from around the world in the following formats: features, documentaries, TV series, reality TV, short films and transmedia projects. To be eligible to pitch in the F-Weird series, you must have a maximum of two professional credits in the role you are applying in. Projects that are in their early stages, but have already taken their first steps into development can now apply to pitch at the 14th Finnish Film Affair, taking place in Helsinki from the 24th until the 26th of September 2025.
